Never heard that before. Super cool info is there just some table on the back of the bag saying the temp rating? Whats considered average temp rating?
It's says it right on the label albeit in very very small type. The high temp and low temp it's rated for and mm thickness.
Personally I get mine from an electrician friend which they get commercially. I used them to secure tarps outside.
The ones from him have lasted 8 years with temps 12 below.
The second set of tarps I put up I bought the ones from Home Depot, they looked the same, that is until it got to 24 degrees one day and they ALL just cracked and popped off!
He's the one that pointed out to me that not all zip strips are greated equal.
Just look at the specs on the bag to tell the difference, better yet find a friend in the trades.
