Just so you know, I-5 through sacramento will be shut down completely starting on may 30th. This is the part known as the Boat Section. It is the part that divides old town from down town.
I guess when the built it 40 years ago They decided to build about a mile of it lower than the water table of the sacramento river. So over the years the seepage from ground water has been slowly eating away at the free way.
