I will be looking for a suitable place to stop for the night between Banff and Jasper on the Icefield Pkwy. I have a 35ft motor home and do not need services. How would Waterfowl Lake be?

Waterfowl Lake is a nice spot to stop overnight or for a couple days. There are several very nice hikes nearby, and the campground has lots of sites that will easily handle your size of rig.

There are plenty of small, unserviced campgrounds along that road. Most are tight and small, and none have any services except maybe water (in tanks) at one we stopped at for a quick look. Sorry I don't recall the name.

There is a campground right on the Parkway at Lake Louise with W/E hookups. It's nearer to Banff, but if you haven't visited Lake Louise it's a must. There is also Moraine Lake a few miles further up the mountain.
Caution. This is grizzley and black bear country. Spotted both along the way up the mountain.

The parking area at the Icefields allows overnight camping. No hookups, just parking.

Have a look at the Icefields Parkway map. The parking lot referred to is at the Icefields Centre. There is a fairly large paved parking area that is used for camping, in addition to the conventional campgrounds Wilcox Creek and Columbia Icefields which are a few kms south of there. It is just a paved parking lot with no facilities other than a couple privies, but the location and scenery are outstanding.
