Ahhhh we would never go back 100%
From time to time.
Its not the extra dollar.
The extra dollar we were able to absorb last year.....
The extra dollar or more this year.....maybe but we will begin to feel it.
If we got to 6 and 7 dollars...............not certain we can.

Hmmm...I think most RV's have bigger tanks than 20 gallons, I would hope anyways. And it's not just the cost per fill-up..it's how far a gallon of gas gets you.
$200 for a new tent
$150 for deer tent & porta potty (maybe more)
$100? new fridge deal to keep brew cold
You're pushing $500, and likely more by the time you get a few more items.
I LIKE tent camping, and if you like it also, it's money well spent, but that $500 would buy alot of gas to run the old girl out to a local campground (we camp at local State parks no more than 75 - 100 miles from the house)

I agree. For us its just to do something differnet. Like you and others we have all the other wants and needs to go with the Tent. We even has a porta poit and a porta tent - since we do a lot of tailgating, etc.
I think variety is good. I use the TT when DW comes along or if I'm going to an event, a Kite Festival in CT tomorrow for example. I use a "base camp" tent when I go out to the Boston Harbor Islands. I use a backpacking tent for.. backpacking and a winter tent for winter camping.
I'm not selling any of them any time soon. I enjoy the outdoors and use the appropriate tools for the situation I'm in.

Yup. Me, too. All my girls like the RV and pretty much refuse to tent camp anymore. But, we always boondock (unless we go to the beach) so we find places where the RV can get to. I still tent camp though; mostly solo, but sometimes with buddies. I like to get WAY back into the mountains on 4x4 trails and there ain't no way an RV is getting back there. That's why I have tents.
And as long as the weather permits, a good cot/pad/bag combo inside a tent is as comfortable as an RV bed. Add a quiet generator and a long extention cord and you've got all the comforts of an RV, but way out in the middle of nowhere.

There is such a thing as a quiet generator? I've only heard my father-in-laws run, and it was very loud. Could hear it inside the house when it was out behind the garage.....

Yes there is...
The Honda is no different than the people camping next door, running their mouths/chatting at the picnic table or kids playing/laughing. Generators are a good thing if used with courtesy.

I enjoy mine...
Yes, I've been doing some reading, and see that Yamaha makes one too.

I was surprised to read this. Are ticks already out in Michigan with it this cool? Did he hike off the trail when he picked up the ticks?
