Hello,

My side by side Dometic is not cooling on AC. I am letting it run for a while before checking againt and attempting to try it on gas.

The flue is very warm to the touch and I have about a 3 amp draw on the fridge so I know that the electric heater is working to some point.

The coils on the back of the fridge are ambient temperature.

I am going through my troubleshooting book and doing some research on the internet. Any help would be appreciated.

If your flue is "very warm to the touch" and the coils are ambient temp: You probably have a blocked cooling unit and it will need to be replaced. On a side by side it is so expensive to replace the cooling unit you might as well buy a new frige. Any yellow powdery residue anywhere? Especially at the burner?

Check your s/n, your fridge may be part of the recall, we had one that died and it was, they replaced the entire fridge.

$2000 to fix
$4500 to replace not including removing the windwhield to get them in and out.

I would take the $2000 repair.

The first thing I would do is shut it off for a couple of hours, then turn it back on.
New models can get "vapor locked", and letting the pressure equalize will usually fix it if this is the problem.
