I went shopping today for a resonator for my 2.8 microlite generator, on my 2004 C190P R/T. After finding out it is a resonator, not a muffler, I further found out that they cost $34 and change at my local Cummins dealer and they cost $35 or so on e-bay, plus $10 to $15 shipping. Cheaper to buy local if you have a nearby Cummins dealer.

That is really good news after my last try at getting something from Cummins. I lost my little plastic door that hides the insides, they wanted $200.00 for a replacement. I built one out of aluminum for nothing.

I got a price for the 2800's removable access door a while back (for a member who lost theirs) from Cummings for $75 plus shipping.
One of us got the wrong price, but $75 sounds more in the ball park.

Did you insulate the one you built?

I called the Cummins dealer in Phoenix and talked to the parts department. That was almost 3 years ago. Hopefully the price was wrong. Even $75.00 sounds high for a piece of plastic. At any rate the one I built works better if I may say so. No I did not insulate it aside from foam around the edges. I may do that now that you mention it.

The removable door on our 2800 is metal. 2007 manufactured.
