That's all part of their advanced design and why they are commonly known as HappyCraps.
When mine jam, first I try using them in the manual mode and crank to unstick. If I'm unlucky that day, I remove the top cover and the gear between the crank and the motor, then give it some more manual cranking. Sometimes if the jack is stuck in the retracted position, I stand on the bottom plate and jump up and down while using the remote. Sometimes I run out of spare 30 amp fuses.... If you ask how to prevent this from happening, HJ will just tell you to "add a few drops of 3-in-1 oil" to the manual crank fitting - What a joke !!
Hopak, I just noticed you have a Bigfoot....Although you have the 10'6 you should check your jacks for being mounted straight. I found my front jacks to be anywhere from 1.5-3 deg tilted out.....
I contacted HJ about this and they said the brackets that mount to the camper are made by BIGFOOT. So I put some of the binding blame on BIGFOOT.
Use something like this to check yours. Angle Finder
Although the 2 deg out doesn't sound like much, but equates to 1/4-1/2 inch of bind on the shaft. If you raise the camper off the truck and then lower it down lower than the height of the truck bed the jacks will bind.....Going down will be fine but coming up they will really struggle. I shimmed mine and resolved most of my binding issues.
These CRAPPYJACS are known for grinding, clicking and jamming. One even fell while driving down the highway. While you can call them and they will fix them you have to get them to them and figure out how you will support the TC while they are back to the factory. Next set will be RIECO's as these are rated for more weight and I don't like to support folks that know they have a CRAPPYJAC design and still do nothing to fix it. OH they are good about saying YOU did something wrong or "We never heard of this happening before".
