Two things:

Is your tow bar level or nearly so (within a couple of inches)?

If so, have an alignment shop increase the negative caster (as well as checking the other alignment specs). Ford may have initially set the car up without much caster as that would make it easier to steer at low speeds.

Thanks! I will get the alignment checked and go from there. The idea to tie the steering wheel was to limit movement not to eliminate it. I'll address the alignment issue first. Thanks again!

Yes, the tow bar is level. Saturday, I experimented with tying the steering wheel to limit movement. When I turned, the Mercury Bobcat would not track. It's wheels remained straight. I need to get the alignment checked.

Thanks for your help. I will report back.
