I would not be concerned about the price as much as I would if it were a class 3 narcotic.(sleeping pills,Xanax ect. IT can only be transferred 2 times. People think that if they go to WG's, wally world or any large chain drug co that they can pick up their prescription at anyone of these. Not SO!!! Ask your Dr. for more than 1 prescription before leaving home. I will get a lot of flack from this post. Call your Pharmacists before you type the flack

There is a work around that has worked for me in this situation. Once I'm out of the area and my personal doctor can no longer write the needed prescriptions as reasons noted above I was advised and simply visited the nearest Urgent Care facility where I met with the doctor who conferred with my doctor and the urgent care doctor was then able to write my prescriptions. Has worked several times for me so far. The catch is you have to be seen by a doctor. Once he confers with my personal physician then he can legally write the prescription. Cost to me? My $20 copay for the office visit. Works for me! Just food for thought and something to discuss with your own doctor if you need meds on an extended trip away from your regular Dr.

Walmart has 30 day supply of medication for just $4 and you can get a 90 day prescription filled for only $10. I just picked up their list of drugs yesterday and it was quite long. You can also go to walmart.com to see the list of medications.

Use mail order where possible, Otherwise use CVS, Walgreens and WalMart.

I've done the same thing that FireDude did and it's worked well. I was caught in the only 2 time transfer of a schedule 5 drug and went to the local urgent care with my prescription bottle in hand, name, address, phone number and fax number of my primary care physician. Worked like a charm.

If you have access to and only a couple of RXs then use mailorder. Lindy
