2.5 inches high won't make a bit of difference. Don't worry about it. I'm 4 inches high and weighed each axle seperately. 80 lbs difference. No worries.

A slightly unstable trailer may not be a problem during normal driving conditions but can become dangerous in panic situations such as icy/wet roads or sudden stops, etc.

Keep two things in mind when setting up your rig:
(1) Place the king pin slightly forward of the tow vehicle rear axle (a few inches).
(2)Level the trailer and tow vehicle.

The trailer should already be engineered for variances in load distribution caused by changing holding tank weights. Air bags are great to level the tow vehicle and can be adjusted to fit the situation.

With the above setup you can fine tune everything with tire pressure, trailer loading, etc.

Thanks for the input. I think that it is probably a combination of things. Tire presure and the fact that it was much lighter than normal. No food, water, etc. The trailer has always pulled good before, except for some forward/back jerking. We almost always have a 8.5 x 10 ft trailer on behind with quads or bikes on it. Had a good test last summer when a 18 wheeler pulled out in front of us. My first reaction was "OH $HIFT". Before panic could even really start to set in, I knew it was gonna be OK. I guess a good brake controller that is properly set up is worth having.

The fish tailing of the 5er is because the pin weight is to low. The air pressure of the tires on the pickup isn't the cause.

Either level the 5er or add weight in the front of the 5er.

Repeat on pinweight, and level unit. Also, make sure there is adequate air pressure in the trailer tires. Soft tires there could also lead to swaying, especially in cross winds.
