Hi Everyone,
Does a fridge have to be level even on electricity? I mean not just slightly out of level but sloped?

Yes. It's the liquid inside the tubes that requires the 'comfortable' level.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Freezer full of meat. Parked at a slope while powered on electricity. Came back a few days later. Well, you can imagine!
It has taken months to get that smell out.

Not to rock the boat, but I have never worried about being level and have never had a problem with my frig. Call it luck or what ever, but we are always a half bubble off!!!!

I think if you are close to level you are OK..
BUT i have a small level I place in the freezer when I set up.. This way I know who, what and where I need to be.. Better safe than sorry..
I even biuld my camper pad level so I could use th frig when parked at home.. Nice during the holidays.r

Mine is good at a 1/2 bubble or better, but I have not set it up further off than that so I don't know how it would operate. I think I would rather be safe than sorry.

Level enough to live in is the general rule of thumb.

Your fridge will work fine within a tolerance. You can't go by those saying a half-bubble or better because that's meaningless because that means different things with different levels. A half-bubble on a 4' level, isn't a half-bubble on a 2' or a torpedo, and then you get into RV levels that have a wide range of variation...
FYI - the fridge care more about the angle across the depth, (i.e., from front to rear of the unit or from door to back if that's easier to envision) than they do across their width. Even then, a rule to consider is that if you find it awkward walking/moving in the trailer as set, your fridge won't like it.

The more level the better and the manual for my Dometic states that side to side is more important than front to back. (sorry Scott, I dont mean to argue with ya)
Keep in mind that out of level damage is cumulative so you may not notice diminished performance until your someplace hot.
