Our 2000 Bantam has a "wet" bath with exactly the same wallpaper on the walls. I'll grant that we have used it very infrequently, as it is a tiny space, but we have used the shower. We just wipe the walls down with a damp sponge/towel when finished showering. The original 8 year old wallpaper still looks new.
I wouldn't use anything major. I also agree with pretty much everyone. Clean the wall with TSP and install panels, Construction adhesive to bond the panels and a good silicon caulk on the top, sides, bottom and corners.
Temp fix is the shower curtain. We are doing that at home due to a window on our back wall. The bathroom renovation is after the kitchen.
our prevoius trailer was like that, we had it for 4years and never had any problems with it, just took a towel and dried off the wall, never had any problems.

I would also wait to see how the existing product works. You might find it works good enough for now. JM2Cents Bill
