Well it's 105 right now and the disc in the meter is spinning like a frisbee with seizures! Soooooooooooo I*'m glad the rate both baseline and second tier is fairly low! Both the roof top and portable a/c running and maintaining 78. Phew I'll be glad when the sun goes down! Supposed to be like this until Monday when it cools to the upper 80;s to mid 90's.

Hi Tony,
Here in Carson City at the Camp-n-Town RV park, each space is metered and we read the meters ourselves..
The rate from Sierra Pacific is 11.4 cent per KW.
But the park charges us 13.5 cent per KW..
I average between 350 and 400 KW per month ... or about $50 per month .. -/+
Hope all is well with your dad...

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

doesn't sound to bad, here at home what we pay for electric is around .11kwh and then we pay a delivery charge to deliver the electric power and its about the same price as what we pay for the electric, same for gas service then add on a bunch of taxes on top of that .here it adds up to $375 a month.

When we lived in Borrego Springs, CA (10 years ago) the base rate was over .14 KWH, and up after the baseline. In summer our bills were over $300-400/month. I hate to see what it is now.

Some of ya'll are just doing this backwards.
See, you're supposed to go NORTH in the summer and SOUTH in the winter, not the other way around.
Right now here in Fairbanks, it's in the low 60's in the daytime and the low 40's at night. Beautiful weather!
Even in July, the hottest month, the temp will probably range from the mid 70's in the daytime to low 50's at night.
Usually no heat or A/C needed.
Now, in January when the average high here in Fairbanks is 0 and the low is -15, we'll be back in Houston.
You just got to get your directions straight!
