What do you gurus do with the bars and hitch at the campsite. Right now I just put them on the ground under the A-frame. But there must be a better way.

Spring bars get put in either the storage box mounted in the bed of my truck or the one I slung off the HTT's bumper. Generally leave the hitch head on the truck.

hitch stays on the truck, overnight stays I'll leave the spring bars lying on the tongue. Extended stays they are placed into the tool box mounted in the bed of my truck and locked up.

I put the spring bars across the A-frame overtop teh spare tire. And I lock the wdh hitch head into the tongue. And put a locking pin in it too.

See my Sig photo. The front outside compartment is a "pass through' compartment. I store the bars on the passenger side front hatch. I laid a sheet of 1/4 inch plywood across the entire floor area in that front pass through so I'm comfortable sliding heavy stuff in and out of the hatches and the linoleum on the actual floor won't get torn up. Did the same in back hatches too.

I lay my bars across the tongue and leave the hitch on the truck. Does anyone else worry about leaving the hitch on? I always think I am going to get up one morning and find it gone. How many lock it on?
