We don't have a tub surround. The walls in our shower are the same walls throughout the rest of the trailer. And yes we use our shower and no problems so far after 3+ years. I probably would have ordered a surround if I had known it was an option (dealer never asked and this was our first trailer).

I just completely remodeled the bathroom in my TT due to a leak in the back corner (from the outside) that destroyed most of the wood in the walls and floor. It didn't have a tub surround when I started, but it does now - I like the look better, and I feel more comfortable having the surround between the water and the wood (if that makes sense0.

Our Jayco came with a tub surround but we saw many TT that did not when we went shopping

We do not have a tub surround and our trailer is 20+ years old. We have owned it for 2 years and haven't had a problem.

Make sure you caulk around the corners and areas where water can accumulate.

Our 1970 Fan has no surround and is basically as shipped from the factory. Had the wall apart (outside) to replace some of the outer skin.
38 years old and no rot, solid as can be.

Old trailer did not have one, current one does. The only difference I really notice is that the current one has the little built in shelves for soap and shampoo bottles.
