Which is easier to set up Direct T V are Dish net work ?? To find the Satellite, have heard that Dish is hard, is that true, want to get one are the other, so would help me make up my mind if knew more about it.
We've been with Direct for 7 years. Realy easy to find the single satelite compared to Dish's 2 that you need to lock in on. Generally takes less than 5 minutes for me to set up, lock in and watch tv.

Ditto. I've had Direct for 7 years, been camping with the portable dish for several years, I am usually able to set it up and get a signal within a few minutes. Last weekend while camping, the guy next to me had DishNetwork, he was not able to hit the bird, after about 5 hours he called it quits. He said when he got home he was changing his service over to DirecTV. I hope this helps.

Several differences between Dish and Direct. Lets just compare the most basic systems (no High def, etc). Direct requires just two adjustments, up and down of the dish called the elevation and left to right called the azimuth. Dish requires a third adjustment, a tilt of the dish called the skew. Direct's satellite is in an orbit a little further from the equator than Dish's, so Direct's satellite appears a little higher in the sky than Dish's. This is important if a line of trees is close to blocking the view to the satellite. You could get Direct's signal but not Dish's.
While I don't know for certain, but I believe that you cannot get network feeds if you are a fulltimer, directly from Dish, but you have to go to a third party provider. With Direct, you can get them directly from Direct.
The best gadget, hands down, to finding the satellite, is called Align-A-Site. It is available from www.alignasite.com. While expensive, it is very easy to find the satellite even in obstructions, that you probably would not find without it.
Regardless of the provider you choose, be careful with the dish. If it gets bent even a little, it can destroy its ability to aim correctly on the satellite. I transport mine on the bed, laying on a sheet to keep the bedspread clean. Do not just through it in the back of the pick up with other stuff on top of it. Don't ask me how I know!
Can't really speak for Dish we have been with Direct since the beginning. But one should be no harder than the other. They both require 3 adjustments.
