Frig is on, ice cream frozen, stakes are cold and the beer is cold.

I'm surprised that the dooms day folks have not been around proclaiming that the world will ignite and go up in a plasma fire storm if you travel with your propane on.

disclaimer: this is a stupid question so I apologize in advance

I am new to this whole thing and a buddy of mine that is showing me the ropes (40 years my senior) keeps telling me NEVER EVER leave the propane on when you are not using it. Now, is there an auto shut off with these things in case of an accident if so how would I know if I have one, or are you guys just that trusting. I know this guy is an old schooler but it seems like it would be the safest to shut of the propane while traveling. But cold beers sound about right!

Then again I do have a cooler!

Gang,

Thank you for all of your replies. We towed with it on and the propane off. It works just fine via the hook-ups. The wife was happy with her cold wine after set-up!

I concur about turning off the frig before refueling, the last time I refueled and didn't turn it off it wasn't pretty....

Kidding of course, but running down the road with the LP on is completely fine, unless your in an accident or something then it could be an issue.

Does the fridge continue to use battery power when not traveling?

To the question of gas leakage due to an accident, take note that the new gas OPD type of tank valves also have a high flow shut off feature. If a large flow of gas happens the valve will shut it off automatically. If you open the bottle valve too quickly it will activate and you'll be standing there wondering why that just filled bottle acts like it is empty. Just turn off the valve and open slowly. All should be well then.
Hope this helps.
