All KOA's we've been to accepted pets. They do have "pet policies" as do any other campground. Many of the KOA's are now adding fenced in areas where you can allow your dog to run off leash.

All the KOA's I have been to have been pet-friendly. One even had a "dog run",or so they called it. Basically a fenced in area with some agility toys that the dogs could run off leash if you wanted. As mentioned above, you have to be a good pet parent and clean up after your dog. I actually attached a small flash light to one of our leashes so I could see after dark! We've never paid extra for our dogs.
Most rv parks as well as KOAs allow pets controlled on a leash. However, some restrict based on breed and size. I have stayed at two different KOAs which had breed restrictions and one we had to bypass because our retriever weighed over 25 pounds. Always verify before making reservation commitments. I do not recall paying extra for our dog.
