When I had never had a bin that went all the way from one side to the other I didn't miss it. The coach I have now was pretty much empty till I bought new tires and even though I live in a town with a couple major coach builders, the tires were 3 days out and one of the 8 was 4 years newer than the other 7 so I kept it for a spare. Got to thinking if a dealer here had to order, chances of a road service truck having one they could bring in my size was slim. Fits in the pass through bin and still lots of room for other stuff. No way it would go in a side bin.

The older I get, the better I used to be.

We have two pass through's, and the rest bins. Pass through's are great, especially for long stuff.

Although not a lot of pass thru room we do like the small pass throughs we have on our Fiesta. They are not "full" all the way across floor to ceiling, however; they make taking those extra big items easier to handle.

My DP has no pass through, wish it did, so i just strap The mother inlaw to the rear bumper.I wanted her on the front axel for extra cushion in an accident BUT that maxed out the front axel,Dab nabit!

I have owned one of each, 39' and a 40' DP. The side storage bins are much easier to use, especially if you have a bad back. Yes you can put slide trays in the pass-thru but they can be expensive. I just added two more.

The side storage may not be insulated, heated. Usually pass-thru are.

The Fleetwood Discovery side bins have a long door on one side that allows long items. I transferred everything from one to the other without any noticeable difference in storage space.

After owning one of each, that would not be the reason to choose or not to choose a specific motorhome.

We have a Coleman Roadtrip grill that would not fit in any bin type storage I've seen, not to mention the MUCH larger tailgate grill we sometimes carry! Also have 4 of the reclining chairs and two folding tables, again, bins would not hold any of these.

While I would opt for pass-through storage on my next motorhome, our Roadtrip Grill, in it's travel case, fits just fine in our front bin.

We also carry four folding chairs and a folding table, the chairs are stored on the upper level storage above the rails and the folding table fits in the bins. This is a 42" octaganol table.

I believe that the pass through storage will probably hold more stuff and larger items.
