I have towed it behind a motorhome four down, but my son in law wants to tow it behind a rental truck on a tow dolly because he is moving out of state. There lies my consern as to which way it would be loaded on the dolly. Front or back first. It is a manual trans.
It will be fine on a dolly with the front wheels forward. Transfer case in neutral-transmission in 2nd gear (or first). I have towed my Samurai 20,000 miles four down with no problems. The manual says to stop every 200 miles and run the engine and shift through the gears. I don't do that and many posters here say they don't do it. If I am not going to use it each day I start it at the end of the travel day for a few minutes to circulate the gear oil.
