I have been trying to find ways to save money on diesel cost. One site I found was dieselsecret.com. They claim to have a product similar to Bio-Diesel, but much easier to make and no coversion kit to buy. Basically, my question is does this stuff work? Has anyone done this. It sure makes perfect sense...but with everything there must be a downside. Would appreciate any input on the product. Sounds like something worth checking out.

Thanks

The downside would be the money these gobs would make off of anyone stupid enough to believe this scam. By the way, the number of posts on this forum regarding phony, unbelievable and hilariously stupid "save fuel with my miracle device" has gone up by 300% in the last 2 months! Sheeeesh!

Whats next...my "wonder cure to stop global warming by using baking soda and hairspray machine?"

.49 cents? wow, that's much cheaper than 49 cents.

A friend at work is doing this. He gets vegetable oil, filters it, and puts some additives in and away he goes. The process requires you to buy a bottle of additive from the supplier which is a little pricey; the last time I talked to him he had performed a chemical analysis on the additive and found it was something very common you could buy at the hardware store for 25% of the supplier cost.

He has been doing this for several months now without any issues with the engine. Additionally he has developed a good supply of used vegetable oil so all he runs is vegetable oil (no conversions to the engine required).

I am watching to see how he makes out in the long term. One engine failure caused by this stuff could buy a lot of diesel fuel. Another thought I have is, as people start doing this the supply of vegetable oil may become a problem and the cost will go up, maybe to the point of making it not so attractive when you consider possible risks to the engine.

Check the various internet sites for (diesel) WVO systems.
Wouldn't use it in a new(er) diesel car or truck, however.
(goodbye warranty = duh!)

Just look at it this way - a common bargain or "deal" has always been:
get "two for the price of one".

With the current price of diesel, the "deal" is simply reversed . . . .
You get ONE gallon for what you used to pay for TWO.
Now - - don't you feel better already?

I could have purchased diesel for 44.9 cents a gallon a week or two ago, but I was too ethical to profit from the gas station's mistake.

I told the cashier and she immediately changed it to the correct $4.49. I didn't buy any diesel there as the correct price was sky high compared to others. This station is sometimes far cheaper than others, but not that day.
