What is a good way to store the Equalizer hitch head and WD bars while at camp?

I had it in my front pass-through compartment, but it is so heavy that it may puncture the vinyl flooring, and/or it may get grease on the other stuff in there.

We put ours on the front of the trailer frame in front of the propane tanks.

I gather mine up in plastic garbage bags to keep them, well, for lack of a better word, clean, and also to keep grease off of other things. More often than not they'll then end up residing for the duration on top of the firering grill (we don't have campfires). It's not an ideal arrangement, but I don't think there is one.

I balance mine on the L-brackets and place the L-pins back into their hole and clip them. That way everything is together and ready to hookup. No sense carrying them further that you have to

I took an old towel, folded it in half and had my hot wife make me a "bag" for it. I put the hitch in there, and put it in the storage compartment. I can grab the bag, pull out the hitch ball cover, put it on, put the whole bag over the hitch and unhook it. I can do this without any mess.

I take a couple of shop paper towels, wrap around the ends and then put then in there too.

I make sure I reclip anything I unclip so they all stay where they are supposed to.

We mounted a section of PVC pipe under the front of the TT and slip the bars into this when the trailer is not attached to the truck.

I put the bars on the "A" frame and lock the head to the tounge, or leave it locked on the truck.

We just leave the Hitch Head on the truck with a Locking Hitch Pin.
I put the bars back in the original box in the pass-thru. Some on here have used canvas or plastic gun cases for the bars, or PVC Square channels strapped together or glued side by side for the bars and then stick in pass-thru.

With all the theft stories I see on here from around the Country, I don't think I would be leaving my Hitch Head behind connected to the TT all assembled, conveniently ready for someone else to back up and hitch to when we are away on half day outings. I might not have a TT to finish my trip in.

I pull the hitch pin and drive off leaving every thing attached to the trailer then put the hitch pin back in and lock it. There is also a lock on the ball housing. When ready to leave camp I just take it all all apart and hook up or I have just backed into the hitch without taking it apart.
