We are considering the purchase of a Starcraft Hybird 2007 Model 18RB, and would like some feedback as to your impressions of the Starcraft in general, and the 18RB specifically. The seller is asking $14,000. NADA guidelines place this unit at an average price of $11,815. What are your thoughts as to how much we should offer the seller? Any concerns we should have about the quality and longevity of this product?
Our best friends and travelling companions just pruchased a new Starcraft Antigua 195CK. We looked at many other HTT brands and found this to be the best of all. Jayco has a good reputation, but the 13" wheels were a turn off. Fit and finish on the Starcraft was better also.
Price NEW trailers at RVWholesalers (about 4 hours away from you) and compare new to old prices for the same size trailer.
NADA is nonsense, price on my Roo '06 23SS was more than I paid for it new the last time I checked. I don't believe that for a second, but a selling dealer will be sure to ask a lot for it.

We have a Starcraft NXP. Its a great TT. Have been very happy with it. And yes we have looked at other brands recently hoping to up size in the next 5 years after we acquire a truck. The other brands we looked at were so cheaply put together. The cupboard doors were flimsy, windows rattled, a lot less cupboard space which was shocking seeing as how we have a 20" and were looking at a 28". Anyway, Starcraft is very well put together and has been worth every penny to us. We are looking into Starcraft for next time also.
Good luck!
based on owners' comments, starcraft makes a great hybrid. we liked the quality and finish of their hybrids. they also seem to have very good customer service. they just don't offer a floor plan that has any counterspace nor a superslide.
the top sellers of hybrids are Starcraft(Antigua/TravelStar), Jayco Jayfeather and Rockwood Roo.

Our Starcraft Starstream pup served us well for over 10 years. Our son's inlaws have a Starcraft hybrid, and we went camping with them last year. From what I saw, Starcraft is still making a great product.
Our second Starcraft pup had some problems....but our dealer and Starcraft were outstanding in taking care of them. Starcraft arranged to have an axle sent overnight to replace a defective axle, and authorized a nearby non-Starcraft dealer to do the work as we were visiting relatives.
I'll second the motion to check new prices and see how it compares to the asking price of the unit you are looking at it. Then, give them a lowball offer, and see where they're willing to drop the price. You may find it worthwhile to buy new and benefit from getting a warranty and dealer back-up. But, it will be cost effective only if you keep the unit long enough to negate the new versus used depreciation factor. I know you can save money buying used, but I like the security of buying new, and do it when I can.

Great trailer, both in build quality and layout. We only had one issue with ours during the warranty period and that was a hairline crack in the skylight dome above the shower. We had no trouble getting it replaced. Keep in mind this a lightweight single axle trailer, it does try to sway with you going down the highway. A proper hitch and sway control can fix that with no problem. We love the trailer. This is our third season with it, and aren't planning on upgrading for a while.
I have plenty of pics and mods in my webshots, check 'em out.
As far as price is concerned, I believe you can do better. We only gave something like 12,500 + extras for ours brand new in the late summer of '06.

If you do a search you'll find 2007 model XP 18rb's listed for 12500-11900 at dealers. I'd expect some sort of discount from the listed price and plan on roughly 1100-12000. You're seller is asking too much, specially with how gas has dampened the RV market. I paid just over what the seller is asking for my 18sb, and it was new.
As far as Starcraft is concerned, I wouldn't have bought mine had I found a better quality one, at least in my opinion. I'm perfectly happy with ours, just don't expect Airstream quality for 1/4th the price.
