We are planning to drive into Escondido, CA, for the day, tomorrow. Can anyone suggest something to do while there?
Thanks!

We live 10 miles from Escondido. Whatever you do tomorrow be prepared for very hot weather. It will probably be in the high 90s. I don't know what you like to do. If you pm me I can give you better advice. There are all the major stores, a nice mall, wine tasting, and Indian casinos in the general area. The Wild Aninal Park is close, but it will be even hotter there. If you want to hike, you could go to Dixon Lake or drive 8 miles to Lake Hoges. If you want to be cooler you should head to the coast. I don't know where you are staying or how far you want to drive.
Have a good day.

Even with heat, I would suggest the Wild Animal Park. There is none to equal it and you will never forget it. Take sunscreen and water.....it's a "dry" heat

Thanks for your replies. We are at Glen Ivy cg in Corona. I am more interested in historic sites, views, etc. We are driving to Huntington Beach on Monday.

That helps to know what you are interested in. To start, Google San Pasqual Battlefield and Grape Day Park. You will be linked to an Escondido information site.

Unless you hate the water, head for the beach -- try South Carlsbad state beach. Very pretty, nice waves, beautifully clear water.

Mount Palomar is close as well as Julian which was an old Gold Mining town. They have great apple pie as well. Have fun it's a great area to explore.

That won't be a little drive with their traffic on a Sunday. I would suggest Oceanside pier and hang out by the harbor marina. Shop along Carlsbad blvd and make a day of it and the drive is short on the 78 fwy.
