Having used AVG anti-virus free 7.5 version it is now changing to 8.0 version. Am I not seeing something as I have not been able to get the 8.0 free. Is it only for purchase? I suspect that the 7.5 version will not protect our PC's by end of May as noted. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Jim

You can download a free copy directly from AVG's website: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0.

Also, a User Manual(.pdf) is available here.

I also do a search for Free AVG and I get sent to the correct web site. I have never been able to find it by going to their home page.

I use a site called FileHippo.com as it has the links to programs used frequently; AVG, CCleaner, etc.

Note that AVG has a separate site for the Free versions of AVG software. And yes, you do have to click several links to get to the free download page: Free.Grisoft.com.

Thanks, This link took me straight to the download. I have been using 7.5 and had not heard that 8.0 was available.
