Thanks everyone for your input. It sounds like they would be a good investment. We are hopefully about to order our Cruiser so I will choose them as an option.

We don't have them and don't miss them.
Never been on the roof, and never had water or debris come in, after 2 years on the road and over 140 campgrounds. Maybe it's the slide design on the Carriage.
We have a number of friends that have them and they have to retract their slides in windy conditions because they can't sleep from the noise.
Good luck,

I don't think pulling in the slides at night will be an option. Are there any tricks that can be done to prevent them from flapping and creating noise?

This "flapping noise" must only happen on certain set ups? or certain types of toppers? I don't know, I've been camping in some pretty heavy winds on the Outer Banks, on the Lake and in the mountains, and I never had "flapping" so badly that I couldn't sleep or where the noise bothered me. I never closed a slide because of the wind or rain, I don't know, ours is Carefree of Colorado slide toppers, but I've also had A&E and no issues.

I agree, I stay on the ocean in Myrtle Beach, it gets extremly windy there at times, I have NEVER heard any thing that would keep me awake ot bother me. We have been going there for 15 years now ( always with toppers)

We have never had to pull the slides in on our Cruiser due to flapping. Get the toppers, you won't regret them.

I have them and do like them. As for the flapping in the wind, I built a frame out of 1/2" pvc which is about 1/2" higher nearer the trailer, which takes care of the wind noise. Of course, you have to put it on and take it off when you leave, but it is worth it.

I guess everyone has slide toppers. I dont have one and have never missed it. I never have had water get into my rig and maybe once a year i go onto the roof to check debris over the slide. What I dont get is how can someone spend money on a slide topper which I think is of questionable value yet fail to put up any window awnings? It seems 3 out of 4 rigs have slide toppers yet no window awnings. I am puzzled why these rigs have the slide toppers yet the owners are content to park the rigs in the blazing sun with no awnings-go figure.

I have window awnings I guess it would be hard not to miss something that you've never had. I've never had water come in on my slides either and I've never had to climb up on the roof, or get on a ladder to clean any debris off my slide toppers.
