Hey there, fairly new to the site. I have been "camping out" for the most part. I am looking into getting a TT for now until the time is right for me to get a toy hauler. My current TV is a 04 Nissan Titan King Cab 4x4, it has the tow package and the previous owner installed a brake controller. I am wondering if anyone here has a similar Nissan tow vehicle, the size of the TT that they tow and there personal opinions on the capability of the truck itself. Thanks in advance.

Just searched "nissan titan" at the top of the page and came up with 20 pages of info, some relevant some not so much. Good luck.

Titan has a pretty good following on the forum and lots of folks like them for some applications. Some models had a pretty light payload capacity making it pretty difficult to come anywhere near their RATED trailer size unless the truck was used for towing completely empty. I'd get your trucks specs and make sure you're within the manufacturers ratings for at least the SAFETY RELATED items like GVWR and GAWR. Other than that you should be just fine with the Titan. Good luck Skip

I think your Titan will serve as a fine TV with plenty of horse and lots of torque. We are very pleased with ours and have no problems. We do not have the Big Tow option but the 4x4 w/ Off Road package gives us all we need to tow well. Out TT is lightweight and with a wd hitch and sway I can forget the trailer is even back there.

As other have noted, there are many pages of Titan discussions here and you may also want to reference the Titan Talk towing forum, located right here!

I didn't care for our Titan. We had alot of problems with it and it didn't tow our 8,000 lbs. TT very well.

My dad has a 2004 Titan, Tow package and off-road package. He tows a Fleetwood 18ft TT that probably weighs around 5000lbs loaded. It tows with ease and could definitely tow more. As to your other comment, why not just get the toyhauler now? All the mfg's make lightweight TH's around 20 feet or so that your Titan could easily tow. Skip the TT and go straight for what you really want.

My dad has a 2004 that has been perfect (knock on wood). Your TT is 8000lbs? I don't think ANY half ton would pull that very well.

Thanks to all of you for the replies. Vapor Trails, I would love to get a TH now but I made the mistake of going to an RV show and showing my wife the Cyclone 3950 and the Fuzion 393 (that is the kind of TH she wants, several slides and all the other good stuff). Obviously the Titan is not cut up for those so for now I will get a TT until I can get a much larger TV. I want a TH for motorcycle rallies and for now I can actually ride my bike to several of the rallies that I attend. It will be 5 years before my other family members will be able to get time off for Sturgis so for now a TT will work. Thanks again to all and happy camping.

Ive been towing my Cougar (6030 lbs dry) around for a year and half now, we usually get out about 35 nights a year and mostly tow in the Cascade Mountains and have had no problems towing what so ever. The truck is beast and we are looking forward to a two week trip in the Canadian Rockies this summer. I'm glad I didn't buy the Ford F150.
