We seem to have our selection narrowed down, especially after we found out Alpenlite has closed down. Either a Mobile Suites or Carri-Lite with side bath. Will probably use a F350 or F450 dually as a tow vehicle. Would like any and all opinions on these. Our style of travelling has changed so we thought we would sell our motorhome although we will miss it. No llonger fulltiming but will still be snowbirds and plan to spend 5-6 months in the 5'er, mostly in one place, Yuma.

As another 5-6 month Yumanite, the last season down there was cooler so (I'm prejudiced of course) I'd be looking at the R values and the Mobile Suites is great for cold weather with the 3&1/4" walls, thermopane windows, 42,000btu furnace etc..
Today is just the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those. I haven't owned either one, but I've looked at both pretty closely for our next (full-timing) unit and like them equally. Side bath for us too. You have good taste!

Suggest you go to www.rvknowhow.com and read the Kieva's suggestions on how to decide on an RV.

So you are going from a small car to drive around in for the winter to a large truck. How do you think that is going to effect you? I ask, because we are planning our first extend stay in Gold Canyon, AZ next winter, and we are concerned about only having a large truck to get around in.

Both are excellent units. I have a Cameo due to weight and My friend has the Mobile Suites. We did a lot of comparison. He has some things I like better and I have a couple things he likes better. But we both love our rigs. Also he fulltimes and I'm still a weekend warrior.

that is exactly my reason for favoring a motorhome, having a small toad and not some mammoth dual rear wheeled vehicle to get around in. I can't imagine trying to park in down town New Orleans with one.

Ya know, I drove 911s for 15 years and bought a F-250 in 2006 to tow a fifth wheel. I sold my last 911 because I simply didn't have the driveway or garage space, but the truck is easy to drive. I'm contemplating a new F-450 to tow my fifth wheel now, but I drive downtown every day without an issue. Parallel parking is inconvenient and some decks simply don't afford the space, but 97% of the time there is never an issue. N'awlins certainly would be ok for truck driving. The new 450 has a much better turning radius due to the front wheels being placed even with the outer rear wheels; adding that would make it much easier to maneuver than most SUVs.
