Where is Lamberts (home of the flying rolls) located? Is it in Branson or Springfield. This would be neat and you probably don't have one of those in your hometown. The Red Lobster is my favorite in Branson.

We stay in Branson about three months a year. Check these out:
Compton Ridge close to Silver Dollar City and a little west of the city (about 10 min). It's a little cheaper than ABC (which is a great place) and has good surroundings. Stay away from the KOA it's expensive.
Shows for the family: Pierce Arrow, Shoji, Baldknobbers, Six, Spirit of the Dance. There are so many family shows there you could not see them all. Take the kids to the dam and let them feed the trout at the hatchery. Lots of miniture golf and go carts.
Word to the wise: keep them away from Branson Landing-that will cost you if they like to shop. Lots of places to eat and shop there. Bass Pro Shop is there as well.
If I can help answer questions for you, let me know. Also, take a trip to Springfield to Bass Pro and the wildlife museums

For anyone looking for a show--we saw Clay Cooper about a month ago and really enjoyed his show. He's on the strip across from Wal Mart.
Ozark Country CG is on 165 between Branson and the dam and a good place to stay. The folks are friendly, and it's in a good location. It's a Passport America cg.
We've been at Branson for about two months now (in the process of buying a house in the area). We are from south MS and LA and really miss our favorite restaurants back home. We are not finding any outstanding restaurants. The food is ok in most places but nothing that will keep us going back.

We might be downsizing our trip again. Maybe Galveston,TX. This fuel thing is getting ridiculous. I think I'd rather take 2 or 3 short trips this summer than spend it all on one longer one. Its a damn shame we work to buy the rigs then damn near have to get a second job to use them. On a side note I heard a N.O radio talk show host say today" HOW IS IT WE CAN PUT AN UNMANNED SPACECRAFT ON MARS----SOME 400 MILLION MILES(??) AWAY, SUCCESSFULLY BUT WE CAN NOT COME UP WITH AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL" Something to think about............Steve A. Dagro
Well, we just got back last night from Branson. The family atmosphere there is great. The best meal by far was 'Tony Z' in the Welk plaza. Don't wear a t-shirt...I felt underdressed. The food was great. My girl's eyes lit up when they brought the desert tray out.
The weather was not the greatest...but I now understand the attraction of Branson. We have Gatlinburg...and they are both similar...but Branson has more to do and see(more shows, more fishing).
I want to thank everyone for their input. You guys always give the best advice.

P Mabry, Glad you had a good time. Where did you end up staying? Did you notice any nice RV resorts big enough for a 40' with 4 slides and tow dolley? We were thinking of stopping there next year.
Any good shows to reccomend? We have no kids, just one fur-kid. Thanks. Janet
