We are off to our favorite beach camping spot, Pt. Mugu Naval Base, Ventura County. It's 15 minutes from our house and we feel like we're far from home.
One of the nice benefits of my husband being retired military.

Our first big trip in our new MH and we are heading to Grand Canyon staying at the trailer village in South Rim. That's assuming this nasty weather and all the tornado warnings and tornados we are getting in "sunny So. California" right now pass us by and I can figure it out in the owner's manual whether the MH can handle the 25 degree weather we are suppose to face at GC.

we are sitting in isle of palms sc for the traditional memorial day festivities the neighborhood throws, then we are off to the outer banks next week.
first we got the fish fry at the local church, then lawnmower races (those suckers are fast), then the roasted pig, to culminate it all.

Staying home - kids have finals next week. I liked it better when we got out of school right before memorial day and left for summer vacation!

Staying at home - the people who work for a living need to take advantage of their time off and grab the available spots. But I was struck by what I saw in the last couple of days when I 'cruised' two nearby state parks: at each location I saw a few class A's, one class C, several TT's and Fivers, and a LOT of people in tents and popups. It reminded me of the way CG's used to be.

Both state parks were packed, BTW.....
