Don't know about this spot but there is one resort called Jamaica Beach that is really nice. We always stay at the state park. Dellanara RV park is supposed to be nice also. We thought it looked a little small to us.

Stayed at the SP last year. Is seaweed always bad in June/July. Was terrible last yr. State park seems to be the most spacious of the three you mentioned. Jamaica looks really nice but cramped. Thanks for your reply

I used to stay at Dellanara but it was semi dreadful, horrid wind all the time, had to put in slides as I felt awnings would rip off, overturned sat dish, couldn't even see water as dune was in the way, water filled with seaweed.
I moved to the bay side, Bayou Heaven or some such and that was great. calm, good for wading, etc.

I've not stayed at Gal Is RV resort. Some of the local comments aren't all that favorable. I've stayed at the state park which is fine, but it doesn't have full hookups. Dellanera is ok if you like to be next to the beach, but it is cramped in my opinion. Bayou Shores is where we are staying if we are visiting Galveston now. But my favorite is San Luis Pass: It is clean, but far from anything, but oh the fishing nearby! Hope this helps.

What are you going for? The beach or just someplace to stay. It doesn't look like a destination type RV park unless you plan on living there.

We just stayed at Galveston State Park this weekend and loved it. I would stay here vice anywhere on the Island anytime. This is about the only park besides Dellanera RV Park that you can walk to the beach with out crossing a major 4 lane road.

I'm sitting at Jamaica Beach RV Park as I type this. This is our first visit to Galveston Island and this CG. At first we where a little disappointed but this place is growing on me. It sits across the FM3005 from the beach and there is an outlet to the beach across the street. The CG is 14 miles from Galveston but the travel to and from Galveston is usually in light traffic and has not presented any problems. The CG is QUITE and CLEAN. The owners are nice and want to please. The bathroom facilitates are SPOTLESS! Pool and Hot tub area also in great condition. As far the negative, the sites are a little small (as may campsites are these days). Hookups are excellent with plenty of water pressure. The sites could use a little grooming, grass needs attention in some sites (mostly trimming). The area has a seafood/steak restaurant ,a pizza place, a Subway, Chevron Gas at a well stocked grocery store. There is even a dog boarding place nearby. One disappointment is not being able to see the beach from here. Seems all the beach front real estate is taken by condo's. Don't think you could run a campground and charge the fee's we are accustomed to on beach front property.

Hope this helps.

We prefer the state park. It has water, electric and dump station. No full hookups.

Been away from computer for a while. We have reservations @ Jamaica Beach from June 29 thru July 8th. Hope to do Johnson Space Center, the dinner cruise on the Colonel and Moody Gardens. Not the water park type so we probably won't due that. If any of you have some personal favorites please share them with us. Will probably spend a 1/2 day or so at The Strand. Thanks in advance Steve A. Dagro
