Who said I know anything about technical stuff? Just cuz I work on computers all day doesn't mean I know lots of stuff, but I probably know more than some of you. Any ideas for topics?

The Minnie Rally is over and we had a very good time. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the weather could have been better. It did rain, most of it was in the middle of the night. Two of the guys put up there 10/10 canopy's that was a big help. The food was as always good good. I hate to single out any one person for good food, but we did get some more of the Big Otto's Clam Chowder.
Tradewinds was first in line, now he will say he was second.

Hobo, no no, Sue was first in line, I was second and Bigdog three.

Sure would like to see more of the people attending the May rally getting their pictures and short bio's posted. For some of the shy people in the group it makes it easier to know who people are. I know David G. is more than willing to get them up on line once people send them in.

After seeing how easy Arnie's and Ryan's covers went up when the rain hit I know I have to have one. It can be hot over in Toppenish in May and we may be glad to have one. There is quite a bit of lawn out in front of that first row and it would be a good place to set a couple up and gather for morning coffee etc.

I am now declaring the NW RV.net Mini Rally officially closed..I will be calling for site reservations on the 20th of January,2009 for next years get together..No,don't try to sign up before then..
It was a great weekend, and yes,I'm got the 10X10 canopy first on the purchase list.Greta bunch of people and a heck of a lot of eating and cooking.Next year the potluck will only be heavy appetizers.. Man,what with the clam chowder, the shrimps and little smokies, the fresh CRABS,the chinese chicken wings, the dips(two avocado, the salmon slaw(?),the wonderful anti-pasto plate, and the salads,we ate our hearts out..Thanks to everyone who brought food..

Well,we got home about 1:30 yesterday and I got the trailer all unloaded and am gonna clean it up so my #2 son and wife from Iowa can stay in it next week when they're visiting. Then it's gonna get cleaned up and loaded for the Labor Day weekend to Portland..We're gonna visit my aunt who just moved there and see if we can visit some Cocker breeders in the area at the same time.I'm marking all the three day weekends that I'll have off and unless the weather is so bad that I can't get out of the driveway,we'll be camping, even if it's only 15 miles over to Belfair SP.Since I have about 40 days of sick leave on the books and retirement, again,is coming closer and since I only get .25 on the $1 if I cash it in,then I guess that I'm gonna be real sick this winter and spring...I've got a couple of more pix and will post them when I can..

Pat and I got home about 3:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon, really enjoyed getting to see everyone again. Don't know about all that food though, I'm three pounds heavier now than I was before the rally. Good thing I had my semi annual checkup with the Dr. before the rally instead of afterwards.

Bigdog,

I had my sick leave figured out to multiples of 4, so I had a number of short weeks the last year before I retired! It will go by fast. It was the 2nd. to last year that went by slowly for me!! Enjoy

YES !!!We've always enjoyed going there and it seems to fit our requirements.. U know,a good place to socialize, lots of good food and drink with-in easy walking distance and the scenery is awesome. We didn't find any of those little fish on our rigs this year and I think only a few rigs got seagulled..
I did my review on RV parks review and the previous ones were all complaining about how rundown it was, etc, and I said that I thought it was nicer than several resorts we stayed at this summer, and for less money too,

I have a question about the aircard for wireless internet. Seem to have a time limit on Verizon and ATT. When I checked with AT&T/Verizon, they no longer have unlimted contract. They have a
5 GIG monthly download, that is $60.00 Do you ever exceed? What about the overage charges? That is my only concern. The rest seems like the way to go.

I was getting the "unlimited" plan for a couple of years and this year Verizon finally followed ATT and changed our plan to their "unlimited limited". Yes, they actually believe it's still a "Unlimited" plan until you hit the 5GB limit. Sprint now does the same.

I have not reached the 5GB limit yet. I have 3 laptops, the kids xbox & Wii, along with both of their PSP's all accessing the internet via our aircard. Just today I had to download a 2.5GB Map update file for my Garmin GPS, and I used the RV Parks's free wifi to download it so I would have to use my aircard access for it. It shouldn't e a problem and if you really need to download a HUGH file, there is usually a free wifi access nearby that you can steal some bandwidth from.
