I think we will be making a lot of weekend trips to get some peace and quiet and maintain our sanity. Camano Island next weekend and then I hope Moses Lake.

Tradewinds, are you going to that brand new State RV park by any chance? We heard about it by mistake. We made reservations for Ft. Worden later this month. Got a call from this new park on Camano to verify our reservations there. I told them my reservations were for Worden. They had some kind of computer glitch as they both use the same res system. Anyway she tells me this new park just opened up and it is right on the Sound. How often do you hear of a new State Park opening up. If you get over there, let us know how it is. I think it might have a marina also.

Got back from Portland in fine shape..No problems with the "X" and got just a tad bit under 11 for the whole way and I had a bit of a lead foot on the way home.(4 hours with two rest stops and lunch at the Farm Boys in Maytown). As usual,we ate our hearts out and made a bit of a dent in the supply of Micros.I'm glad I don't live there full time as I couldn't afford it.Too many REALLY good food places..Looks as if the next trip is to Point Hudson in October for the Kinetic race..After that, possibly something over the Veterans Day weekend mebbee Cama Bay?.Don't forget the Nehalem Bay SP trip in January over MLK weekend.(weather permitting)

Bigdog, I have reservations for Port Townsend out on the Point and the races the same weekend. Going up on Friday and staying thru Monday as Sunday is a full day.

Ryan, I did not realize that you were up in Packwood this last weekend or I would have contacted you prior to leaving. Thought you were going up this coming weekend.

Gary, staying at the house up there but will check on the new park, I sure have not heard of it. I will check with Fishinghat as he is up there quite often.

Otto.......Tom said he did have the coach batteries off. He thinks the batteries are old, (6 years) so that could be their problem but something drained the main battery also. He is replacing the coach batteries and having an electrical check on the MH tomorrow. need to get everything fixed soon before the weather gets really ugly.
What are the coach batteries of choice for all of you guys? Trojan or interstate??

I have used both but only use Trojans now for both coach and chassis.

I replaced the Interstate batteries in our coach last year (6 yrs old) with Les Schwab Marine/RV deep cycle. Seems like they were made by Trojan, but could be wrong about the mfg. Haven't had any problems with them so far. The cost last year was $84.80 each.

I replaced my Interstates at 8 years with Excide 6V golf cart batteries. Not sure who really makes them anymore as I doubt if Excide does. They are three years old now and doing very well with no problems. I got them down in Yuma at a battery dealer who caters to RV'rs and sells "blems" they were $60 each and have done a very good job so far. The Interstates were still doing the job at the end of 7 years but I was getting nervous. I do top my batteries off with mineral oil to keep them from corroding up my terminals, it also cuts down on water evaperation.

Tradewinds, are you talking about applying the mineral oil to the battery posts? It sounded like you add it to the electrolyte.
