Tizi...You have to excuse Bigdog he is deep deeper deepest denial about how bad the Cougs are this year. The Dawgs shall rise again.
Hobo and I welcome another Dawg in the Dawg House.

Only if we can fill up the park!

Anyway, what Tradewinds said. Get your reservations in, let me know you're coming and I'll add you to "our" list as well. But I got to warn you about some of the old timers around this group. They're always looking for fresh blood, so whatever you do...
1. Don't volunteer for anything until you know something about who's asking you.
2. Verify your findings with at least 3 other people, and,
3. I've yet to see anybody dance at any of the past rallies, so don't get suckered into it. Well, I did see Hobo's belly dancing around the buffet table one year though.

Hey Bigdog, I'll bet you're glad you flew on this trip to NV. I seem to remember the last trip you drove that way you had quite the adventure. Glad to hear you guys had a good time.

Hey Jon, I guess he has yet to figure out the moderator is a Coug fan and those comments could cause his posts to dissapear.

Shouldn't your name be "BigCoug" and not Bigdog?

Does anyone know what good parks are available in the Scottsdale area? We know nothing, so I'm searching based on distance from where I will work. I'm working at General Dynamics on E. McDowell Rd between N. Hayden Rd and Pima Fwy, according to Google.

Today we head to Santa Fe for a few days.

John,
I would take a look at this site

www.rvparkreviews.com

There is so many parks near where you will be working, that you will just have to make up your mind where and how close you want to be. if it was me I would get a park for a week or longer and do some looking around. Just remember this the traffic is really bad out your way.
What a place to be and work for the winter. Lucky man.
Holly and I was down there for a few winters and I loved it.

John,

We have never stayed up on the north end Scottsdale area so can't give you any specifics. But I do second Hobo's comment about the traffic through Phoenix and the valley. Try and stay north of I- 10. The 101 loop is still being worked on as well as 17 north. Those projects have been under way for several years and may be getting close to completion. (That will teach the senior AZ for not taking earmarks!!)

IF I remember correctly, there looked like there were several larger RV parks north of Phoenix on 17, but not sure. May be farther out than you want to be.

We stayed at Ft. McDowell RV Park in Fort McDowell/Fountain Hills. VERY expensive but a VERY nice smaller size park with a nice pool and laundry.

Can't be more specific, sorry, but would find a place for a week or two and then do some scouting around.

Be sure to go out to Tortilla Flats and get a piece of the "old wild west"!

Enjoy

Tizi,

I've given Bigdog a bad time about his moniker several times!! Guess he knows that the Dogs will always prevail and come out ahead over the haul. The Dogs will be back!!

I love my DOGS, but as you all know I have got to be a Couger for the next two years. That is the price I pay for having a granddaughter over there. So go cougs.
Now when we get our new coach over here we will be back where the DOGS should be (on the top) We have a new AD over here and from what I hear he is going to replace Willingham.
