Thanks.
That all depends on where in Atlanta you need to be. Atlanta invented the term "urban sprawl". I have stayed at Twin Lakes and think it is about the best in metro Atlanta. If you want to site-see PM me for more info.

I've been using Lake Lanier Islands. Sites are woodsy, mostly dirt (some gravel) and limited to 30amp but if that doesn't make you run away... the staff is very nice, they have an equestrian center, golf courses, hotels, water park, wellness center, and more in the development.... all this but the CG remains nicely quiet

We used to live in the area in our "other" life. We stayed at Twin Lakes for 3 mos, 2 years ago. It is one of the cheaper ones becuse it's cash only and has no amenities.
There are plenty of sites with FHU's. Plus it's close to 400, so you can get anywhere from there.

Yes! That was the other one I was trying to think of. Heard nothing but good about it, but left the area before checking it out. I will likely head there next time I go to ATL if I don't end up just staying with friends.
From Stone Mountain, if you have a toad just about everything in the city is reasonably accessible. (Note - that's 'reasonably' in ATL-speak, and only means you don't have to pack a lunch if you avoid rush hour. There are only 2 distances between any two points in Metro ATL, both measured in time. The short one is 20 minutes, and the other one has the word 'crawl' in it.)

check your electric at Twin Lakes-the owner builds the sites and is NOT an electrician. I parked my brand new TT on one of his then new sites on the north side, and had brownouts during the summer. I complained and complained, his only offer was to install a 50 amp box at MY cost-I only needed 30 to begin with. Inside of two months, my ac unit fried, as did my neighbor's. He blamed it on my 2 month old unit!!! I have stayed at Jones, it's not particularly safe, thanks to the mobile home occupants....lots of gang activity there.

catman must've been someplace else. I did not see any gang activity at Jones at all - this was last winter, and I was there for over 2 months while I took care of some local business. Small place, and I was near the entrance. I lived in that city for over 10 years. Jones is not in the bad part of town.
That said, it still isn't a place you'd go without a purpose. And there is no excuse for management's attitude toward guests. I received an 8 or 10 page lecture on conserving water that apparently went to everyone. There were several other nastygrams in a short amount of time in the absence of any actual disputes or problems. So I just...wouldn't bother, at any price. I was told it was actually nice a few years ago, had landscaping and such. Not any more!
