Very interesting thread. Bottom line is, if you want to do away with the whole thing and not have to worry about WW's......buy an Attitude! LMAO!!

So, you & Willoughby did your research, and bought Eclipse trailers. Eclipse with a solid "F" BBB rating.

.......My research was done here on this and other threads. The consumer has the loudest voice of ANYONE and that is what I listen too. Obviously, I made a good choice and bypassed WW based on those reviews.

That being said, we own an 04 WW FS3000 and have been EXTREMELY happy with it in the year that we have had it. We did buy it used (but barely) and have been told that we are lucky to have the 04 since that was the last year WW used the one piece zieman chassis to build on. and trust me, we are not gentle with it. we drive it down what is probably the "worst dirt road in So Cal" several times a year in order to race. Those conditions will weaken any trailer structurally - no matter how careful you are. They are called TH but NO trailer is designed to handle the type of off road driving we do. they are just not built for that. We are lucky, my husband is an RV mechanic and has been for the last 12 years. so I know if I have any issues I know where I can turn to for help.

Ours is an '04 as well, has the same frame, and has never been offroad, and I hope noone here has the same problems we're having, it really stinks.
...and no offense, but unless your husband can remove your trailers sidewalls, re-glue the outer skin, and replace it, he'll be of no use if you have similar problems.

Well, maybe I should have said he is an RV Technician. Lucky for me he can do this type of repair, and has. We (I work in the office) not only do RV service but also have a full body shop. I have seen the underside of a trailer's walls. So I know what is involved in a repair of your nature. and that is actually the reason we chose to go with a trailer with wood studs instead of metal - I have seen the atrocious job of welding they do on these trailers. I hope everything works out for you and this repair.

I understand that 100%. We've owned standard 5'ers built outside of California....and they are put together so much better than our WW. We knew we were buying a lesser quality but for what we needed the money to be spent was worth it to us.

We had our first structural service a few months ago. It's probably easier for us since we only live about 20 minutes away from the factory than you. Our LE had a saggy wall. They welded in new supports in the fender well area. Our rig was the last year before they started offering the lifetime warranty but they said they'd extend it to us too. We've dealt with water damage at the rear cap too, again the factory has been beyond awesome. Would we have these type of problems with other 5'er TH? Maybe...maybe not. It's a crap-shoot. Now I'm watching the front of the trailer. I'm watching for flex over the hitch. I don't see any tattle-tail signs....yet. But I'm thinking there's a little too much flex.

Michael...I hope it all works out for you. I'm sorry you are having so many problems.

I think part of the problem is the old adage that is you are happy with a product you might tell 10 people, if you are unhappy you will tell everyone.

My limited understanding of how the BBB works:

1) Unreasonable customer files a complaint
2) If you are unable to sufficiently kiss their ass your rating is lowered
3) After 4-5 of these complaints you have an “F” rating

A smaller company that gets 8 customers a year, of those eight 4 complain and earns an A.
A larger company that handles over 20,000 customers a year gets 10 complaints and earns an F.

Like I said The BBB sucks, I never use them for anything.

I don't think it's the amount of complaints that earns the company an "F" rating but instead the way they handle the complaints and that is what I look for if I'm checking out a company. I figure if a company doesn't take care of a problem or blows off customers that have a problem, then they will probably treat me the same way. I think businesses that don't like the BBB are the ones that don't like being held accountable. The BBB is not the answer to the world's problems but they can help the consumer be a little more informed.

Here is the BBB criteria that earns a company an "F" rating .. do you know of any TH manufacturers that fit the description?

F We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.

I would change that to "if you are unhappy you will post it on RV.net".
