It seems to change every year. As we visit more COE CGs I find they are replacing some of the private CG we previously enjoyed.

1. The one where I walked to a spot and caught several really big trout.
2. The one where nobody knows about and I can spend the week in the pines with no neighbors.
3. The one where we "broke in" the camper.
4. The one where the neighbor was sunbathing in a place she was sure she couldn't be seen.
5. The one where the whole family gathers once a year. Pretty soon we'll need a bigger spot as the family grows and the tents turn into 5ers.
As usual, the exact locations of all the above are classified...

When considering this list, since we have a good time most everywhere we go (a bad day camping is better than a good day working, you know), it almost seemed easier to remember the clunkers!
Anyway, here you go:
1. Fort Wilderness- Disney
2. Rafter J- Black Hills, SD
3. Mammoth Cave National Park- Kentucky
4. Blazing Star- San Antonio
5. Weston Bend State Park- Weston, MO

In answer to your question, Memaloose is an oasis of green with lots of grass and trees. You can park in sun or shade, with hookups or without, with great river views or not. Tenters can find appealing sites and so can the largest motorhomes and 5-ers. The park is very popular with windsurfers during the summer, and you may need a reservation for hookups on the weekend. But the best thing about Memaloose for us and many other locals is that it's less than two hours from home. :-)

Thanks for the response!
What is there for teens to do? Is the water accessible to swim in? The only spots available during the time I am looking at are in the A section. Do you know what that is like?
