We have HD sat dish and receiver on the coach but had never activated. Thought I'd make DW's day and order the service from Direct TV. Spent 1.5 hours on the phone. Was advised to call a different number 5 times.... no kidding 5 times. Enough******over that 90 minutes that I gave up... The last place they directed me to was KVH website and click "where to buy" but that's all hardware. Any ideas.

we had directv for 6 months and that was the worst consumer experience we have ever had.

bought out our "contract" that they tell you doesn't exist and they threatened us over the phone several times with collections. finally had to get our attorney involved.

check them out here:

We had a totally different experience. We are at Myrtle beach and replaced our Kingdome with the Winegard SK-3005 dish. We called Directv and they did transfer us to someone who works with RV customers. They were helpful and advised what we needed to do. We bought an HD DVR at Bestbuy. We called DirecTv back and they activated the receiver over the phone. We are even picking up our local channels. (300+ miles from home) They added this receiver to our home account. So far, so good. This has been a 100% improvement over the kingdome.

We have had Directv for a year, and have found their customer service to be very helpful. I had a hard time getting the signal in the rv, and they had lots of patience with me. Turned out the "garage sale" dish or LNB (LBN?) did not work. Bought a new set-up and received Directv with no further problems.

The reason we have Dish Network is because when I called to see what Direct had to offer I gave up on their "customer service" line. I called Dish and no problem getting a person or my questions answered. That was about 5 years ago and Dish has been good but certainly not perfect. It seems to be luck of the draw as to who you get and what kind of service you receive.

Been with Direct for fourteen years. About five years ago the receiver went out; called 'em and a had a new receiver the next day - overnite. Took the receiver back and forth between house/RV no problems.

No house now, just RV. Bought a new dish; sometimes the new dish is tedious to align, otherwise very satisfied with Direct.

I have had no problems with Direct once I got my account switched to the coach.

I have had problems with their DVR, but they replaced them quickly and free of charge both times it happened.

They screwed something up on my bill once and when I called, they corrected it and apologized and gave me 3 months of all their movie channels free.

I had DISH but got rid of it because of poor reception while traveling. Their satellite is lower in the southern horizon and can be a challenge to lock onto when your in the North.
