I have a close friend that tows a 07 automatic Accord. He has a friend that was General Manager of local Honda dealership that owns a motorhome and tows a 06 automatic Accord. I know "a friend of a friend" does not count, but he is real. I bought a 98 Accord from him a few years ago that I towed. I have a 2000 CRV that I tow now and a 07 Accord that I will tow in the future. I know what the book says.

As mentioned above, after about 2005 or so Honda stopped saying it was okay to tow Accords four down. I have been told that the transmission didn't change but that some people were no following the pre-tow procedure required and making warranty claims when damage ensued. I have towed my Accord about 53,000 miles with no problems.
Nice letter, but it doesn't apply to the Accord in question.
The ONLY Honda vehicles from 2005 on that are approved for four down towing are the CR-V and now FIT. .
Deen,
I believe I mentioned that it did not apply after 2005 in the first part of my post.
As shown at the top of the letter, I received it in 2002. Perhaps I should have mentioned my Honda is a 1999 model year.

Yes, that is what it says, but right after that, which you did not completely copy, it says "it is best not to tow more than 50 miles nor faster than 35 MPH." My Civic manual says the same, as do the Acura manuals I've looked at. I don't know about you, but 35 MPH is a little slow for my coach!
We pulled a 1996 Honda Accord wagon (automatic) around for 11 years with no problems. Still have the car and it runs like new. Just replaced it with a Honda CRV as a toad. Great cars!
