I plan on going camping this weekend and it has been more than a month since I used the receiver in the motorhome. The motorhome is in a storage lot. I know I can refresh the receiver from my direct tv account on the internet. My question is this.

Can I refresh my motorhome receiver on the internet at home while the motorhome is at the storage lot and not receiving any satellite signal. If I refresh at home will this action be received by my receiver once I go out camping and get a satellite signal. Thanks

It should refresh when you turn it on and get a signal at your camping site. Sounds like your going to more trouble than needed if I understand your question.

You have to keep the receiver plugged in and receiving a signal from the satellite. Where it's doing that, it doesn't care. Carrying the receiver from your home to your RV shouldn't lose its authorization.

Your receiver needs nothing.

My 2 RV receivers haven't been used since April 8th. The motorhome has been parked at my home. Today I drove to my summer lot, turned on the receiver, put the auto dish up, dish acquired sat signal, receiver downloaded new programming and I was good to go.

6 Weeks of inactivity and neither receiver needed reset.

Ditto. W/ direct I just turn it on after a month or 2, and it works.

When I travel I use a direct tv box. It does not lose it's settings when powered down. IE: no 110 ac. One thing I do when I set up in a new location is I pick up either the zip code or lat/long from my Garmin. The setup menu allows for a lat/long entry which will return the azimuth/elevation. Once I have that I can orient the roof dish. Direct TV shows a signal meter in the setup screens so you can tweak the dish to get the highest signal strength.

So far this has never failed me.

Those who "never" need to refresh the receivers after extended power down should consider themselves lucky. The receivers lock-out somewhere between 1 & 2 weeks and need to be reset (that's why it's there), and somewhere on the site that's discussed. I have had times where the receiver is off for 6 weeks and have it power-up alive, most times it's under 2 weeks. I could call my homies at the uplink and ask but they might fix it for all..

To the OP: You need to have the receiver powered up and antenna pointed before you refresh the receiver as it is what needs to be unlocked.
