I am thinking about buying a vent cover and have a question: If towing with the vent open in rain or very dusty conditions, will the airflow around the vent cause moisture/dirt to be brought inside? Here in the south, it gets so hot during the day, it would be nice to keep the inside of the rig as ventilated as possible.

I tried a search but couldn't find this subject addressed. Thanks

No it won't draw in water or dust, in fact it works the opposite, it draws the air from the inside to the outside. I travel with ours open and have never had a problem with rain or dust. Good luck.

Mine have been open 24/7/365 for the last 2 seasons including winter storage. Never a problem.

We tow with our vents open...in fact that was one reason why I had the Maxxivents installed, dealer said we could leave open when moving a keep airflow through the TT.

We have a horse paddock next to the pole barn where we store our 5th wheel with a lot of dust. If I leave mine open during storage we will collect dust inside the trailer. However I always leave them open while traveling rain or shine.

When traveling with the vent open do you leave a crack open in a window to promote air flow or just the vent open?
