I'm just curious, does anyone use cruise control while towing their HTT? Obviously if you're in some serious mountains, it probably wouldn't make sense, but what about the highway? I turn on Haul Mode in my truck, and find myself trying to keep it between 55-60mph, but my foot gets tired after a while from trying to keep it there. Just wondering if there are any effects or if it shouldn't be done?

Thanks,

I tow in cruise on the highway in tow/haul mode, I too like to keep it between 55-60 mph, I don't feel comfortable going over 60 even though the 'Burb can do it.I don't do it in the rain, I like to be able to slow down on wet roads by just taking my foot off the gas.

I use cruise all the time when pulling the TT, and only use tow/haul on heavy grades. Why do people use the tow/haul all the time? I just see the RPM's go up......I pull at 60-62 mph....

Yes, I use cruise and tow/haul mode which prevents the trans from ever shifting into overdrive. But, when I approach an upgrade, I tap the break pedal to turn off the cruise to prevent such high-speed downshifts into 2nd gear. Then, hit resume when I'm back on the level. I don't think I could drive long distance any more without cruise.

Cruise - anywhere the traffic does not get in the way!
Tow/Haul ALWAYS as it keeps the trans temps down and also enables downshift engine braking (at least on my D'max).

What does the Owners Manual state? We use cruise control all the time except in the mountains and only use Tow Haul in towns.

No problem with cruise control unless it causes frequent up & down shifts.

Experiment with tow/haul mode to see which works most smoothly on your truck and your trailer in the terrain you're in today.

All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

i use tow/haul mode all the time and it goes into OD. the only thing i notice are the shift points are different. as for criuse control, i use it when traffic makes sense and not on steep grades. i guess you will get different answers depending on everyones make and model year. good luck

My Nissan owner's manual says do not use cruise control. What does yours say.
