My SIL bought a 2008 Summit TT about a month ago from a local dealer, when he picked it up, the flat screen TV that was part of the option package wasn't installed in trailer and he was told as soon as it came in they would install it. Anyway he was preparing to go away with the trailer for the first time for May long weekend, but when he de-winterized the trailer he found all the water connections at taps were leaking. He phoned the dealer and was told they couldn't look at it until August.
To his credit he didn't accept that and took the trailer immediately to the dealership, they first tried to blame it on him for not winterizing it correctly, except as he pointed out, they had winterized it. Also there is a panel in the bathroom that is delaminating. The dealer phoned him today and said they couldn't find any leaks, can't find the TV, and the panel that is delaminating is unrepairable and there is nothing they can do about it.
He has ask me for ideas on what to do,and all I can think of is to E-mail Thor and ask them if they can help, and also report the dealer to Calgary BBB, my first thought was to go and make the Sales Manager do the Rubber Chicken, but that is frowned on.
Does anyone with similar experience and successful conclusion wish to share what they did?
Any problems we had in the beginning with our TT that the dealer gave us guff about we called the district manager of the manufacturer. Did not have a problem after that. Just tell him he needs to become a squeaky wheel.
Good luck!
I would 1st try and get the owner of the dealership assistance with the issue. If that fails I would get the local TV/Radio station and newspapers to do a story on the "dealer". It is amazing the response/service you can get when they know that they are getting free advertising (good or bad).

Go to the top of the dealership and forget about dealing with the service manager. At the same time I would alert manufacturer of the problems and that you are having issues with the dealership. But given this is a new TT and still under warranty and the nature of the issues, delamination on a new TT, I would ask for a new TT under the lemon law! This sounds like only the beginning of issues with that one and with a dealership that is less than reputable.
I have never had our dealership tell me it will take more than two weeks for them to perform any service whether routine maintenance or the one warranty issue I had with our Jayco.
Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome. You may want to post the dealerships name so other can be warned about that dealership or they can share their issues with the dealer.

Do a bit of research on the Lemon Law. They vary heavily from state to state. I was able to send a 'notice of intent' to the manufacturer, asking them to fix my trailer or refund my purchase amount under the lemon law.
They'd had my trailer for nearly 3 months, and in less than two weeks, I had my trailer back, an appology from the dealer, and my leak was fixed, my trailer was clean - not a spec of dirt inside.
The was even a form letter I found online that was easy to personalize and send certified to the manufacuter.

Be sure to document EVERYTHING!!! Take pictures. Record dates of your calls, return visits, etc. Start with the top of the dealership as said but also contact the manufacturer. If the delamination you refer to is exterior, that may be grounds for a new unit. Delamination can be caused by faulty manufacturing process (glues, etc) or by water intrusion of some type.
Best of luck!

Start with the Owner or GM of the dealership. Take your cell phone with you. If not immediately satisfied, ask for the district manager's name phone number. Call the district manager on your cell phone while in the GM's office. Put it on speaker. Start the conversation with the facts. conclude your presentation with, "How are you going to fix this so we are all happy?"

I might be wrong, usually am, but I don't think the Lemon Law applies to things with out engines. So a motorhome is covered but a TT isn't. But that maybe a state deal.
Document everything though. Get a phone recorder and record phone conversations, just be sure to inform them what you are doing. I've had to do that with health insurance companies
