I've seen numbers like this before. Remember... it's a Trail Manor. Very little wind resistance. It actually makes a lot of sense (cents)

I get 16 mpg in town non tow 07 CM 5.7 Tundra 4x4. I just done 1400 miles avg 7.6 at 65 mph to 70 mph and at 55mph I got 9.4. My TT 30 Gulfstream loaded around 8000lbs. The bad thing over $600 in gas but still cheaper than a condo for 8 nights.

truck without camper gets 17 to 18 mpg ,pulling camper about 14 to 15mpg.
You lose 2 mpg pulling a 33 ft TT? That's great! you're doing better than a diesel.
Time to get a Tundra...

Am I the only one or do some of these MPGS seem to be downhill with a tailwind based on the instantaneous "Lie-O-Meter" thingees. Based on what I've read over the last 7 years with any kind of a full height and reasonable TT the 7.3L Ford will get anywhere from 9 to 11 or so towing and the older Dodges got between 1 and 3 mpg better. Know nothing about the Chevy or the newer engines, especially those with the DPF which from what I have read really killed the towing mpg.
Also, unless you're talking about the most recent diesels with the DP, gassers have always gotten less mpg than a diesel. Just look at the very wide range of gas mpgs reported in this thread.
Finally the biggest variable is are these towing mpgs between fillups when actually towing or are there some non towing miles lumped in there. I only calculate my mpg between fillups and always hooked up to my TT.

This spring went to SC from New York State and back. I averaged 10 - 11 mpg pulling my 5th wheel, 26ft wt 6100 lbs. This is with a 2004 F150 HD with 5.4 engine and 4.10 rear. I try to keep my speed at 60 mph but at times traveled at 65 mph.

I tow a 20' TT, 5000# +/-, with a '95 AWD Astro Van (4.3L, 3.73 diff.)
The Astro gets about 16mpg highway when not towing, averages about 8 mpg towing. I try to keep it about 60 mph on interstates. Actually, I think the wind has more effect than mountain passes.
