I have a bit of a quandry and would like input from you all. DH and I are on our third trip with our new Jayco and have found a few interesting tidbits with regards to our plumbing. I am now thinking we should take time when we get home and go over every bit with a magnifying glass. After arriving at our destination and our first trip with hook-ups, I noticed water on the floor in front of the sink. I looked in the cabinet under the sink and noticed that the trap had fallen away from the down pipe from the sink. I was lucky as most of the water had been caught in the pans I store down there. DH fixed the pipe (which shouldn't have come off in the first place) and that was that. In the bathroom I have always wondered why the hot and cold taps were reversed. I think I have found out why. I was dumping the chemicals and ran some water in the toilet and noticed steam coming off the water. I realized that hot water is hooked up to the toilet. This could be a good thing for cleaning but I am wondering if it will do any damage to the toilet itself. DH and I were wondering how much hooch was consumed when plumbing our TT was done. At least one can have a warm backside when doing their thing. All kidding aside, is this something we should worry about? The thought of having to take our TT to the dealer and have it fixed (we trust ourselves first) is a daunting thought. Is this a hard fix?

The trailer undoubtedly has PEX plumbing, and unless you have the special tools that are required to do the fittings and cuts, you would be better served to have it professionally repaired under warranty.

LOL! (Sorry)
As a fellow Jayco owner, I feel your pain! It seems the traps are famous for being loose on these units. My hot/cold are also reversed in the bathroom and on the outside shower. No steam toilet however!
It's a good idea to check over the lines, I found several loose.

Suggest that you ensur that you do not have the hot water tank bypass open but this would also give you hot water at both the hot and cold. The hot water in the steamy tolet I would think is not a good idea and should be fixed as the tolet would be desighned to run on cold water and the cycling of tempertures may cause seals to shrink and swell and eventually leak. As you indicate your unit is a 2008 get it back to the dealer to fix your problem or suggest that they come to you. Good Luck

I had a new house with a hot-water toilet a number of years ago. I had them fix it, as this was a luxury I could not afford.

My 2006 Jayco leaked water from the bottom the first time I used it. The repair folks said the factory failed to glue the gray-water line.

It sounds like the plumbers are using the glue for something besides plumbing.

It sounds like they need to be on the right side of the wall to plumb it right. I am a plumber and find that most new plumbers will plum the bathroom wrong. they tend to do it from the back side and not stnading in the tub. All they are thinking is cold on the right hand and hot on the left hand. Seasond plumbers know tho revers that when doing it from the back side of the wall.

On our 1st trip last year with our NEW jayco(after the dealer said he went over everything).
The trap under the sink was off. The water pump leaked, shower taps leaked, lines under the sink leaked.
By this time we were in south dakota(we live in saskatchewan)
Phoned the dealer even though I knew there was nothing he could do right then.
Good thing hubby had tools with him to tighten everything. But everytime we went back on the road, things loosened again. Well we kept tightening till we got back. Took it in and they went through it again. It seems ok now but we will see on our 1st trip this year. Other than that I do like the jaycos

I would get the hot water toilet fixed if it were me. My in-laws had a Class A coach which had the same problem and it did cause problems with the seals to the toilet.

I've had the drain traps loosen several times. They're just standard fittings and the road jouncing and vibration seem to loosen them up. Now I just check the tightness periodically.

I would have your dealer made aware of the issues you have. If you have children, it would probably be best to have the water lines reversed so that your cold and hot water knobs are standard to avoid possible scalding. If your Jayco is like mine, your Atwood water heater is set for 140 degrees. Just my opinion.
