A dentist in Los Algodonas told us that there are over 350 dentists there and that 185 were not either qualified, registered with the Mexican Dental Association,or licensed.Do your homework very carefully and the cheapest is not the best for sure.Ask for references and referrals,if they blink or hesitate move on.If they don't have enough pride to have a presentable office, they are only in it for the money.Ask for a tour and look at the premises and equipment, they should be proud to show it to you.If they are good they should also be prosperous.Cheap services and road side advertising are very common.Don't be afraid to pay for a consultation.

I have not had any dental work done there but have walked the streets of Algodones many times and you will have your pick of many dentists. You should start your research as suggested above then refine by canvassing folks in the parks you're staying at. I'd be very surprised if you cannot get good 1st hand experience reference from any number of folks in the parks.

You can get good work done in Algodonnes but here is how the shops work. The shop my wife goes to has about 16 dentists. There are probably about three guys working that have the skills of an american dentist and oversee the work of the other dentists who really are technicians. It reminds me of a dental school with a lot of young dentists still learning the trade. The equiptment is often better than you will see at an american dentist. They can charge less because of the volume and because everyone pays cash and most of the dentists are still learning the trade. You could almost get the same thing if you went to a dental school in the US at a major university.
