To each their own. We were at both places last summer and Cape Breton was much prettier than P.E.I..
Happy trails,

Thought he was referring to P.E.I.
Since the Red Wings lost last night I've been a little confused...

I shall always remember Bill##### as the party who didn't think knowing Canadian provinces mattered.
Pity you never visited any museums or took in any of the proud history of this area. If you zipped through Gros Morne, you must have been wearing very heavy shades.
Granted you'd have to do some hiking to see this picture of Western Book Pond:
BTW did you do any hiking anywhere?

Sorry I've offened you. Didn't mean to.
And BTW I'm 68 and don't do much hiking anymore. But I travel a lot.

Wow Bill - you've taken a lot of heat on this thread, LOL!
Prices of fuel in Canada -DO- hurt (I assume) the Canadians too.
Residents close to the border come to the US to buy fuel.(?)
The economy: A friend just returned from a UK and Netherlands trip.
The topic often brought up by the locals was the US economy.
Although the exchange rate is great -if- they travel to the US,
it has dramatically hurt tourism there.
One area that would normally see 8 cruise ships per month, now gets one.
IMO, you Canucks come on down! Your "improved" dollar is fine
with me. Makes up for when it was the other way around, eh!
JC
On edit - forgot about the Florida cashier & "phony money".
Heck, most kids behind a cash register today can't count - no less
add and subtract! (the machine does it all)
You really throw 'em off if your bill is, say $2.24 and you
hand 'em a $5 bill . . . .then the 24 cents -AFTER- they've entered
the amount tendered as $5.
Lost in space!
Of course - the "phony money" employee needed walking papers!
"We" wouldn't have gotten along very well, LOL!

I doubt fuel and the overall costs to travel whether it's in the USA or Canada will get much cheaper. Even if prices drop modestly in the short term, inflation will push costs up over time.
We bought our 1993 RV 3 years ago to see North America before we got too old to travel this way. Our older RV and takes money, muscle and time to keep it in good running shape.
We try not to let the costs of owning and operating our RV dictate when and what we do with it. Otherwise it would make sense to give it up and do something else.
Having said that, we do plan our trips carefully and try not to waste time or money needlessly. We budgeted $2500 for fuel 2 summers ago to see the western parts of Canada and the USA and ended up spending $3500. Oh well, that's just the way things unfolded and we're glad we made the trip regardless.
We are traveling to the Smoky Mountains in a couple of weeks and we already know the costs are going to be fairly high ... but not unexpected.
We choose to RV, we take the good with the not so good, and we enjoy the ride while we can.
Bottom Line: we'd rather have the memories than say "woulda, coulda, shoulda".
