was there last Oct. and had a very large cotton mouth stretched out on our pad when we came in from shopping. ranger finally caught it and took it away. I would have preferred to have it killed. Was not comfortable the rest of the week at night.
Will go back with or without snakes, one of the best parks ever.

Just got back from Topsail a couple of days ago. Spent all last week there. Didn't see a snake or gator anywhere. Not a lot of bugs either. I guess the wind blew them all to Alabama. We did see some healthy rats eating the dog food that people leave out. The only thing that bothered me was the construction noise. Being a state project they don't work very long though. They usually start about 8 am and stop about noon. They are adding more cabins and a tent camping area. No new RV sites. All things considered it's still a good place to stay. The park rangers and the volunteers are all friendly and helpful.

We were on site 64.
I was just wondering because I'll be on 87 in a couple of weeks and 139 in July. And I was just curious around what sites the construction was going on.
