my short list came down to CRV, Liberty, Vue and I went with Vue. much 'nicer" road manners. depends on what you want to do with it.

I really appreciate all the replys.
When we were in Hawaii, we rented a Tracker while we were there.
I was thinking, if I could find one, that it would suffice for our purpose.
Time to go shopping.

Towing a 2008 Toyota Yaris. You need to get the 5 speed manual though. Gets like 40mph and weighs 2250.

The Jeeps are in the 4,000 lbs range or better, look at the Saturns, there somewhat lighter. JM2Cents Bill

Better not look at a 2008 AWD Vue - 4300 lbs.

How about a Smart Car at 1600 LBS. Blue OX makes a tow plate for it and can tow 4 down in netural. Cheap at 11,000 for a tow car and 2 full size adults fit in it. Don't have to get on your knees to get in and out.
I like my CRV for now.

there's something about a smart car that reminds me of instant death if it is involved in a fender bender.

The wife wants a Pontiac Vibe... I think I've seen people pulling those... but, I don't see it mentioned here. Anyone?

Only manual transmission Vibe can be towed.
