Hey, I have read here on how to adjust our slide out, but still need explanation. On the inside of our TT the interior trim does not fit flush on one side which is causing some dampness when it rains. Please see the pictures I have posted and tell me which part of the slide we need to adjust. TIA
This bracket looks like it used to be adjusted higher.

This bracket does not look straight.

The carpet curls in and you can see where the trim piece has gotten wet and swollen up. We have replaced this trim board once already thinking it got wet from a rain when I had the slide partially in, not noticing the slide was not flush when extended out instead.

Like I said I did a search already and found some tips, but just not comprehending. Thanks

Synchronizing the slide room

Fully extend the slide-out, then retract it about 1/2".
Loosen the synchronizing bolts on the side of the slide-out that is not sealing correctly.
From inside the trailer, manually push the slide room outward until the inner seal just contacts the wall, then tighten the synchronizing bolts.
Move the slide in and out a couple of times to check.
Re-adjust if necessary.

Vertical adjusting bolts

Fully extend the slide room.
Place a jack under the slide room frame to hold the weight of the slide room. If the slide room is level, do not raise or lower the jack.
While the jack is supporting the weight of the slide room, loosen the two vertical adjusting bolts.
Straighten the slide mechanism and re-tighten the vertical adjusting bolts.
Test the slide room travel.

Question, where would be a good place to check if the slide room is level?

Set up the trailer on a hard surface, such as concrete.
Level the trailer.
Fully extend the slide room.
Place a 4' level under the floor of the slide room, between the two slide mechanisms.
Adjust as needed.
Good luck,
Mike

Adjusting the slide so that the inner seal on the inside is better compressed will not solve a leak problem. The external seals on your camper are the ones that should prevent water penetration. Look closely a them to make sure that they are not deformed and are making good contact with your slide.

Thanks milzat!
Charlie, I have looked at the seals several times on the outside and they look perfect, no cracking and they are flush against the outside slide wall. I even went out and bought the 303 protectant to treat both of the seals. That's why I was so confused about what was going on when I realized that when the slide is out the inside right facia trim is not completely sealing like on the left side.
A can of vege's got caught between the slide and wall without me noticing at first and the force burst the can before I realized what was going on, what a mess. I believe that put the slide out of sinc(sp.)

Some slide outs have a rain gutter just above the slide out. There should be a sealant at the seal above this gutter. Make sure that the sealant is good and that there are no cracks. Cracks could allow water to get behind the gutter and penetrate the wall.
Good luck
